That is the idea Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS) is bringing to Healthcare Expo & Conference 2026, live at Hall 2, Karachi Expo Centre, from 23 to 25 July, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Visitors can step inside a real ambulance, learn CPR from trained instructors, and test their health knowledge for prizes.
Pre-hospital care is the medical response a patient receives before reaching a hospital, from the moment an emergency call is placed, through assessment at the scene, to monitored transport in an ambulance.
The World Health Organization defines its core purpose as rapid assessment, immediate stabilisation, and safe transfer to the right facility. In Karachi, that golden hour response is often what separates a good outcome from a preventable loss.
Pre-hospital teams are not simply transport. A trained crew assesses risk, begins treatment on scene, and hands over a stabilised patient with a full report, closing the gap between “someone called for help” and “a doctor is now treating them.”
Karachi’s traffic, narrow lanes, and long travel distances between neighbourhoods and hospitals make early intervention critical. A coordinated system- control room, dispatch, on-scene care, and hospital handover- determines whether help reaches someone in time, regardless of where in the city they are.
Healthcare Expo 2026 puts that system in front of the public, before anyone needs to use it.
Ambulance walkthrough: Visitors can step inside a working SIEHS ambulance and see how paramedics use the space, equipment placement, patient positioning, and monitoring during transport. SIEHS operates a free, 24-hour emergency ambulance service across Sindh; call 1122.
Motorcycle & Cycle Response Unit: These units reach patients in traffic and crowded venues faster than a full ambulance can, arriving first to assess and stabilise while transport is dispatched.
Hands-on CPR and choking training: The SIEHS Department of Research, Development and Education (RDE) team runs live demonstrations, hand placement for compressions, recognising severe choking, and the difference between a partially blocked airway (the person can still cough) and a fully blocked one (no sound at all). The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies recognises supervised first-aid practice as more effective than video-only learning, and RDE’s instructors let visitors practise the movements themselves rather than just watch. Those who practise get a digital certificate.
Free Tele-Tabeeb 1123 consultation: Not every concern needs an ambulance. Tele-Tabeeb is SIEHS’s free 24-hour virtual clinic, offering medical advice, diagnostic guidance, and mental health counselling. Visitors can learn on the spot when to call 1123 versus when to call 1122; unconsciousness, severe breathing difficulty, or major trauma always means 1122.
Spin the Wheel: Visitors answer a health myth-or-fact question across five categories, ambulance care, mental health, and more, for a chance to win a prize.
Balance Board Challenge: A short coordination and balance activity at the booth, with a twist: follow SIEHS on socials to unlock your turn. It’s a fun, competitive add-on, not a medical or mental health assessment; anyone concerned about their balance, coordination, or wellbeing should speak to a professional, and Tele-Tabeeb 1123 is free.
Parents, teachers, office staff, drivers, community volunteers, and nursing students will all get something practical from the booth. CPR and choking response are skills anyone may need to use, not just healthcare workers.
