COMMUNITY/SOCIAL MOBILIZER (ON-GROUND/FIELD) - RURAL FOCUS & MENTAL HEALTH (SUICIDE PREVENTION) - SANGHAR, UMERKOT, NAGARPARKER

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Community / Social Mobilizer will conduct household visits in rural villages to record health check‑ups, educate families, and disseminate key information on physical and mental health. The role includes identifying mental‑health concerns, particularly suicide risk, facilitating referrals, and supporting community‑based initiatives that improve overall well‑being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct door‑to‑door visits to deliver health messages, collect data, and assist with community assessments, with special attention to mental‑health indicators.
2. Identify vulnerable individuals (including those showing signs of depression or suicidal ideation) and ensure timely referral to 1123 Tele tabeeb or nearest health facilities or mental‑health services.
3. Mobilize villagers for awareness sessions, outreach activities, and health campaigns covering physical health (immunization, nutrition, hygiene, maternal‑child health) and mental health (stress management, coping strategies, suicide prevention, and emotional well-being).
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, religious figures, district task force and influencers to promote mental‑health stigma reduction.
5. Facilitate group meetings and peer‑support circles to discuss topics such as stress management, coping strategies, and suicide‑prevention techniques.
6.  Maintain accurate records of field activities and submit daily/weekly reports, highlighting any mental‑health alerts.
7.  Provide feedback to line managers/supervisors to inform project planning and improve mental‑health service delivery.
8.  Ensure all activities comply with project policies, safeguarding standards, and ethical guidelines for mental‑health interventions.
9. Maintain digital data for easy access of program team, ensure integrity in data management and report necessary deviations in district level action plans

Qualifications (Rural Field Focus): Intermediate (or higher) education.

Experience: Minimum 2 – 3 years of relevant social‑mobilization experience, preferably in rural settings.

Training/Courses: Knowledge of mental‑health issues and suicide‑prevention basics (training/certification desirable). Strong communication skills in local languages/dialects.
