SIEHS Stands Guard at the 35th National Games, Ensuring Life-Saving Care When Karachi Competes

The 35th National Games have returned to Karachi after nearly two decades. Thousands of athletes, officials, and spectators now move across dozens of venues. Stadiums roar with energy. Schedules run tight. Even traffic looks different, filled with jerseys and tracksuits.

Amid the colour and noise, another team stays quietly on duty. They are not chasing medals. They are racing against time.

Medical Cover Where It Matters Most

At the National Stadium and key venues across the city, three SIEHS “Hope” ambulances and one Rapid Response Bike Ambulance remain on standby. Crews stay fully geared. Engines stay ready.

As part of the official medical cover for the Games, their mission stays clear and critical: reach patients early and deliver care before hospital arrival. This is the core of pre-hospital emergency care.

More Than an Ambulance

Many people see an ambulance as just a vehicle. For SIEHS–1122 teams, it serves as a mobile treatment room.

Each Hope ambulance carries cardiac monitoring, including ECG. Crews manage oxygen delivery, airway support, and IV access. Selected units also carry ventilators for critical respiratory emergencies.

Alongside advanced equipment, crews handle issues often dismissed as minor. They treat injuries, manage pain, stabilize asthma attacks, address allergic reactions, and respond to shock.

Everyday Emergencies at a Major Event

Large sporting events rarely involve dramatic crises. Instead, crews manage constant, everyday emergencies.

They assist dehydrated volunteers in crowded stands. They immobilize injured athletes on the field. They assess coaches with chest discomfort and spectators with sudden blood pressure spikes. From first aid to full stabilization, crews remain ready for every scenario.

Cutting Through the Crowd

The Rapid Response Bike Ambulance adds speed where roads slow down. When traffic stalls and crowds block access, the bike moves through quickly.

Its rider reaches patients first, begins assessment, and delivers lifesaving care. The bike team also guides ambulances through congestion. This approach fits real Karachi roads, not ideal conditions.

Safety Beyond the Scoreboard

The National Games celebrate performance, records, and national pride. Yet none of it matters if people do not return home safely.

While Pakistan watches the podiums, SIEHS–1122 watches the gaps. These are the moments when a routine outing can become an emergency.

If you noticed a Hope ambulance parked just beyond the boundary, remember this: Karachi did more than host a sports festival. The city stood backed by teams trained for what no one hopes to see—but everyone needs ready.

Fast. Reliable. Pre-hospital care. Ready within minutes.
