MANAGER - GOVERNMENT RELATIONS (KARACHI)

General Purpose:

The Manager – Government Relations will serve as a strategic bridge between Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS) and various government stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination, compliance, and advocacy in line with the organization’s mandate. The role is pivotal in strengthening SIEHS’s collaboration with the Government of Sindh, supporting the continuity and expansion of emergency and health services across the province. This includes maintaining trust-based relationships, monitoring policy developments, securing required approvals, and aligning public health priorities with SIEHS operations.

Job Responsibilities and Authorities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between SIEHS and various government bodies, departments, and stakeholders at provincial and district levels.
  • Facilitate effective communication, coordination, and compliance with Government of Sindh (GoS) policies, directives, and expectations related to SIEHS operations.
  • Monitor and analyze government regulations, health policies, and legislative changes that may impact SIEHS and advise senior management accordingly.
  • Advocate for SIEHS initiatives, funding needs, and operational support through proactive engagement with key officials and policymakers.
  • Prepare and present official correspondence, position papers, updates, and performance reports to relevant government departments.
  • Coordinate high-level visits, inspections, meetings, and events involving government representatives.
  • Build and sustain long-term relationships with administrative authorities, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies to support operational efficiency across Sindh.
  • Ensure timely submission of all statutory reports, approvals, and licenses required for uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Support strategic collaborations and MoUs with government entities for new initiatives and public health integration.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity in all government-related interactions and documentation.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of government structure, administrative protocols, and decision-making hierarchies
  • Knowledge of public health systems, emergency services framework, and relevant regulatory policies
  • Proficiency in drafting official letters, policy notes, and government-level communication
  • Familiarity with applicable compliance, licensing, and documentation processes
  • Basic data analysis and reporting using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to navigate complex bureaucratic systems and maintain cooperative relationships

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written (Urdu & English)

Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree or equivalent

Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, CSR partnerships, or donor engagement in nonprofit, social enterprise, or development sector settings. operations.
