GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Incident Coverage Squad Member will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and responding to incidents and emergencies within their assigned area/facility, as required by SIEHS .

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond promptly to reports of incidents, emergencies, or security breaches as directed by the Incharge.
  • Assess the situation and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of individuals and property.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment.
  • Identify and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the relevant authorities.
  • Monitor and survey the premises regularly using various tools and technologies.
  • Report any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and emergency responders during incidents.
  • Accurately document all incidents, actions taken, and relevant information.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports for review by management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in training sessions and drills to enhance preparedness for various emergencies and incidents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Provide assistance and support to employees, visitors, and clients during incidents or emergencies.
  • Direct individuals to safety and ensure they receive necessary assistance in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all security equipment, such as radios, flashlights, and surveillance systems, is well-maintained and fully operational.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the Incident Coverage Squad and relevant teams to coordinate responses and share information effectively.
  • Communicate critical updates and information to team members and management in a timely manner.
  • Report any malfunctions or deficiencies in security equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to incident response, security, and safety.
  • Facilitate access for authorized personnel involved in incident management.
  • Restrict unauthorized individuals and the public from entering the site or accident scene.

  • A keen eye for identifying risks, security concerns, and suspicious activities, ensuring all incidents are thoroughly documented and acted upon.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, supervisors, emergency responders, and authorities.
  • Ability to remain composed and make clear, rational decisions in high-stress or emergency situations.
  • Collaborative approach to work, sharing information and coordinating responses with the Incident Coverage Squad and other relevant teams.

Qualification: Matric or Preferably Intermidate

Experience: 3-5 Years realavent (preference will be given to Ex Armed Forces individuals) / Additional certifications or training in security, emergency response, or related fields preferred.

Age: Minimum 30 years

Training/Courses/Certification (Preferred): MS Office
