LIFESAVING CARE ARRIVES IN THARPARKAR WITH SIEHS' FIRST BASE STATION IN NAGARPARKAR

In a major leap forward for healthcare access in one of Sindh’s most remote regions, Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS-1122) has officially launched its first emergency base station in the resilient town of Nagarparkar, District Tharparkar. This new facility promises to transform emergency medical care for communities that have long battled with the harsh desert environment and limited access to healthcare.

Nagarparkar, a rugged and remote area near the Indian border, is known for its beautiful yet unforgiving landscape, where access to basic services has always been a challenge. The region’s population, approximately 1.6 million strong, has shown remarkable resilience in the face of isolation and harsh living conditions. The launch of the emergency base station is expected to significantly reduce the long-standing delays in accessing emergency care for residents, many of whom live in villages far from the nearest healthcare facilities.

The new station will provide critical ambulance services, reaching some of the most remote villages in Sindh, ensuring that help now arrives faster and more reliably than ever before.

Qasim Siraj Soomro, MPA and Parliamentary Secretary for Health, underscored the importance of this milestone, saying, “Tharparkar has faced unique healthcare challenges for decades. This base station marks a turning point, allowing us to provide life-saving services to those who have long been underserved. With the support of SIEHS, we are now able to offer critical care exactly where it is needed.”

Brig. Tarique Quadir Lakhiar (R), CEO – SIEHS, emphasized the transformative impact of the facility: “This isn’t just a service; it’s a lifeline. For years, the people of Nagarparkar and its surrounding areas have waited for reliable emergency care. Today, we’re making that a reality.”

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve healthcare services across Tharparkar, where residents have often faced perilous journeys across challenging terrain to seek medical assistance. By significantly reducing response times, the new base station ensures that emergency aid is now available within minutes, even in the region’s most isolated corners.

Local leaders, healthcare professionals, and community members have hailed the launch as a vital step toward addressing the region’s long-standing healthcare challenges. There is hope that it will save lives and improve the overall quality of life for the entire community, whose endurance and strength in the face of adversity are well-known.
