KARACHI, 7 October 2026: Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS) received two honours at the Pakistan Safety Council’s 9th HS&E Excellence Annual Conference & Awards 2026 in Karachi, recognising its leadership and commitment to road safety.
Mr. Lutaf Ali Mangrio, Chief Executive Officer of SIEHS, received the CEO Award for Visionary Safety Leadership. SIEHS also earned the Organizational Road Safety Award. These honours reflect both strategic leadership and the effective implementation of safety practices.
For emergency medical services, road safety is integral to patient care. Teams must balance urgency with responsibility, ensuring rapid response while safeguarding patients, staff, and other road users. Vehicle readiness, skilled personnel, disciplined driving, clear protocols, and coordinated dispatch are essential to effective emergency response.
“In emergency services, safety is not a separate workstream. It has to be built into how we train our people, operate our vehicles, manage a call, and transport a patient. These recognitions belong to the teams across SIEHS who carry that responsibility every day while serving communities across Sindh.”
Mr. Lutaf Ali MangrioChief Executive Officer, SIEHS
SIEHS operates the 1122 emergency response service across all 30 districts of Sindh, responding around the clock to medical emergencies, road traffic incidents and other situations where timely pre-hospital care can make a critical difference. Its services also include Tele-Tabeeb 1123, providing round-the-clock access to medical and mental health support.
The Pakistan Safety Council conference brought together health, safety, and environment professionals and industry leaders to discuss safety, sustainability, and resilience. For SIEHS, the two awards acknowledge progress and remind the organisation of the standard it must uphold: when the work is about saving lives, getting there safely is part of saving them.
