SIEHS-1122 LAUNCHES EMERGENCY SERVICES OPERATIONAL BASE IN DADU, EXTENDING SINDH’S EMERGENCY NETWORK TO CENTRAL SINDH

Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS-1122), the Health Department Government of Sindh’s principal emergency healthcare organisation, formally launched and broke ground on its newest Emergency Services Operational Base in Dadu — in a landmark ceremony that brings structured, round-the-clock pre-hospital emergency response to Central Sindh for the first time in the region’s history. The launch was presided over by Chief Guest MNA Dadu, Rafique Ahmed Jamali, and attended by Deputy Commissioner Dadu, Syed Murtaza Ali Shah, alongside Brigadier (R) Tarique Quadir Lakhiar SI(M), Chief Executive Officer of SIEHS-1122, senior district officials, civil society representatives, and media.

The establishment of the Dadu Base is a direct expression of the Health Department’s strategic intent to build a province-wide emergency infrastructure that leaves no district behind. Dadu — a district of significant geographic spread and population density at the heart of Central Sindh — has long needed a dedicated emergency response system. Road traffic accidents, cardiac emergencies, obstetric complications, and trauma cases will now be managed with trained first responders and coordinated dispatch, eliminating an enormous and avoidable burden on communities and district hospitals alike.

SIEHS-1122 operates across all 30 districts of Sindh, with a fleet of over 627 vehicles, through the emergency helpline 1122 and the telemedicine service Tele-Tabeeb 1123. The Dadu Base represents its most significant operational advancement to date, anchoring SIEHS-1122’s physical presence in a region that spans dozens of towns, rural communities, and arterial highways.

“The people of Dadu have waited long enough for this. Today is not just about a building or a ceremony — it is about a commitment from the Government of Sindh that in a moment of crisis, trained help will arrive. I extend full support to SIEHS-1122 and call on all stakeholders to stand behind this mission.”

— Rafique Ahmed Jamali, MNA Dadu — Chief Guest

Once fully operational, the Dadu Base will deploy trained Emergency Medical Technicians and paramedics on a 24/7 basis, supported by advanced life-support ambulances, fire tenders, and equipment directly linked to the SIEHS-1122 command and dispatch network.

“Emergency response must not be a privilege of geography. Every expansion SIEHS-1122 undertakes is a direct answer to the Government of Sindh’s mandate — to ensure that wherever a citizen of this province calls 1122, a trained responder will come. Dadu is our commitment made visible.”

— Brigadier (R) Tarique Quadir Lakhiar SI(M), CEO — SIEHS-1122

The ceremony featured a live emergency services demonstration by the SIEHS Operational Team, a formal groundbreaking, and the presentation of Ajrak to the Chief Guest and principal dignitaries. Cultural performances by Asghar Khoso, Ustad Manzoor Ali Sakherani, Sanwal Faqeer Group, and others honoured the occasion with the music and spirit of Sindh. The Dadu Base launch is the latest chapter in SIEHS 1122’s growing institutional story — an organisation that began with a mandate and is delivering, district by district, on its promise to Sindh.
