It was past 11 PM in Village Dam Damo when a panicked husband dialed 1122 emergency services. With no hospital nearby and his wife in severe labor pains, he placed a call that would soon turn an ambulance into a delivery room—and despair into hope.
The desperate voice of a man echoed through the SIEHS Command & Control Center on the night of 11th August 2025. His wife, a young mother in full-term pregnancy, was writhing in pain in Village Dam Damo, Sujawal–Thatta Road.
The dispatcher quickly assured him:“Don’t worry, sir. Stay calm. An ambulance is on its way. Help is coming.”
Within minutes, ambulance SU-268, equipped with Basic Life Support (BLS), was racing through the dark roads. At 11:42 PM, just 22 minutes later, the rescue crew arrived to find a 27-year-old woman—her second delivery—struggling with contractions, while her family anxiously gathered around her.
Her husband pleaded, “Please, just take her to the hospital quickly!”“We will, but first let us check her condition,” EMT Muhammad Awais calmly replied.
The EMT monitored the mother closely as the ambulance rushed toward DHQ Sujawal. After covering about 16 kilometers, he realized the baby would not wait. Turning to the family, he explained:“The delivery is happening now. With your consent, we must stop and help her deliver here.”
The husband hesitated but nodded firmly: “Do whatever you must—please save them both!”
The ambulance pulled safely to the roadside. Inside, amidst prayers and tension, the crew worked swiftly. Minutes later, the cries of a newborn filled the ambulance. A healthy baby girl had entered the world.
The crew provided immediate post-delivery care—APGAR scoring, stabilization, and essential medical procedures—before safely transporting the mother and newborn to DHQ Sujawal.
This was not just another emergency call—it was a miracle born from professionalism, compassion, and the dedication of SIEHS-1122 heroes.
Every second counts in an emergency. A single phone call, a moment of awareness, or a life-saving skill can mean the difference between tragedy and hope. This family’s story is a powerful reminder that emergencies don’t come with warnings—but preparedness can save lives.
